Born and raised in Central Massachusetts. Licensed since 2013. Worcester Business Journal 40 Under 40 (2024). I started William F. Riley Electrician Inc. because I believed homeowners deserved an electrician who shows up on time, communicates clearly, and treats every job like it's going in their own home.
Grew up in the area, knows the neighborhoods, knows the housing stock. From the older homes around Worcester with knob-and-tube still in the walls to the newer builds in the surrounding towns — I've worked on all of it. The difference between someone who's local and someone who isn't shows up in the small stuff: knowing which inspector is reasonable, knowing which towns require permits for what, knowing how to navigate older Worcester three-deckers.
Started in the trade in 2013. Worked under journeymen, mastered the craft from the ground up, got my Master Electrician license, and learned every type of residential job along the way — panel upgrades, full home rewires, EV chargers, mini splits, recessed lighting, kitchen remodels, basement build-outs, knob-and-tube replacement, generator hookups. The hands-on time is what builds the instincts you can't learn from a book.
Launched the business because I wanted to do things my way — show up on time, communicate before, during, and after the job, charge fair market rates, and never cut corners. No call centers. No overpaid sales reps trying to upsell you on stuff you don't need. Just one licensed electrician who takes the call, does the work, and stands behind it.
In 2024 I was honored to be named to the Worcester Business Journal's 40 Under 40 — a recognition of young professionals making a real impact in Central Mass. It was humbling. The community I grew up in is the community I serve, and being recognized by it meant a lot.
I've been a fitness guy since I was 15 — working out consistently, playing sports my whole life. Soccer. Basketball. Track. Picked up boxing in my mid-20s. I bring that same discipline to every electrical job. Show up. Do the work. Don't cut corners. The same mindset that gets you up to train at 5 AM is what gets the job done right when the surprises pile up behind a wall.
